PRISM is our way of describing our holistic program. It encompasses a series of platforms providing integration tools to assist veterans in their Recovery, Structure and Management of ailments such as PTS, MTBI, MST and other stress challenges such as Anxiety and Depression. This program employs a combination of holistic options to help veterans overcome their obstacles.
The foundation recruits and engages with qualified experts for each of these platforms for both private and group settings for veterans.
To be effective and long-lasting, the healing is gradual, and the therapeutic process is affirming, empathetic and uplifting. PRISM assists veterans with dedicating time and embracing the opportunity to develop inner strengths. PRISM renews their courage to continue recovering and healing from the long conflicts in Iraq, Vietnam and Afghanistan and extends to other veterans who have served in various parts of the world. The feedback we have received leads us to believe that the experiences gained from our events and holistic strategies allow veterans to face the challenges related to combat stress by helping them improve their mental attitudes and outlook. The environment is one of inspiration and encouragement for them to build new skills, connect with peers and find support for combat stress.
SOLFEGGIO SOUND FREQUENCY AT 432HZ
Solfeggio sound frequency vibrates at 432 hertz and is known as the heartbeat of the planet. 432 is the energetic frequency of nature. Generally, this solfeggio frequency has been proven to be healing since it reduces anxiety, lowers the heart rate, and blood pressure. It is a frequency that encourages the synchronicity between both brain hemispheres, which increase intuition, insight, and creativity. The frequency is at times said to be scientific tuning and is helpful in meditation.
COLD LASER THERAPY
Laser is light amplification at specific wavelengths that have been scientifically proven to create healing properties in human cells. Like a plant cell uses sunlight for growth and health, human cells have been shown to respond to light in a similar way. Cold lasers can stimulate all types of cells, including muscle, ligaments, nerves and cartilage.
Lasers can either be used as a stand-alone or used in conjunction with other modalities and therapies.
As a non-invasive procedure, Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) can be performed at an outpatient clinic, providing a distinct advantage over traditional laser surgery. There is no recovery time and no side effects, which makes LLLT an attractive treatment option for a variety of conditions, including:
- Reducing inflammation
- Reducing free radical production and oxidative stress
- Improving blood flow
- Enhancing tissue repair
- Improving cellular energy production (increasing production of cellular ATP).
COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, skill-based psychotherapy for depression, anxiety and related problems. Specifically, CBT:
- Incorporates motivational enhancement strategies to promote engagement in therapy
- Emphasizes a collaborative relationship between therapist and Veteran
- Targets extreme or maladaptive thinking and behaviors by implementing specific cognitive and behavioral strategies in an integrated fashion, based on an individualized case conceptualization
- Focuses on reducing depressive symptoms and substance use, achieving mutually established treatment goals, and improving quality of life, including housing retention.
CBT has also been shown to be as effective as antidepressant medications for depression (DeRubeis et al., 2005)
CBT has been shown to be effective for alcohol and illicit drug use (Magill & Ray, 2009)
MEDITATION
Meditation utilizes a variety of breathwork, visualization, and mindfulness techniques to help ground the individual in the body, within a space, in a particular moment in time. This practice allows the nervous system to calm down and creates space to both process and accept the complexity of life with greater ease.
BREATHWORK
Trauma can be expelled through breathwork by releasing the tension and pent-up energy that is deeply rooted within the subconsciousness of the person. Through the deep and focused breaths, the powerful connection between mind, body, and soul diminishes trauma. Veterans learn how Trauma can be expelled through breathwork by releasing the tension that is deeply rooted within the subconsciousness. Through the deep and focused breaths (there are 10 types) the powerful connection between mind, body, and soul diminishes trauma.
